On March 28, 2022, a meeting was held at the offices of the Committee for National Minorities with Ms. Erzsébet Szalayné Sándor, an expert from the Council of Europe, renowned in the field of protection of national minority rights in Hungary.
Ms. Sándor's visit took place in the framework of the preparation of the Needs Assessment Report for the Committee for National Minorities, a project made possible with the support of the Council of Europe.
During the meeting, the members of the Committee informed the expert about the history, challenges, and needs of each of the nine national minorities they represent. Ms. Sándor shared her expertise and experience based on best practices for national minorities in Hungary. At the end of the meeting, both parties agreed to continue their cooperation and to produce a joint final report that will contribute to achieving the objectives of the Committee.
