The Committee’s Chairperson, Ms. Konstantina Beziani, along with representatives from the nine national minorities (Greek, Macedonian, Aromanian, Roma, Egyptian, Bosniak, Serbian), local prefecture officials from Vlorë County, and accredited diplomats—including the Deputy Greek Ambassador in Tirana (Valia Pandarvani), the Greek Consul General in Gjirokastër (Dimitris Zaharidhis), the Commissioner for the Protection Against Discrimination (Robert Gajda), folk artists, intellectuals, and local residents—participated in this event.
In her welcoming speech, Chairperson Beziani noted that this was the first cultural event of this kind showcasing national minorities in Albania. It included a national conference presenting the current characteristics and challenges of the minorities, an exhibition of ethnocultural heritage of the Greek minority, a rich artistic concert featuring folk songs and dances of the Greek minority, and a traditional culinary fair by women from the villages of Finiq Municipality. She added: “Albania has become richer through the contributions and pearls created by all minorities.”
