The Committee on National Minorities is the central institution under the authority of the Prime Minister, established by Law No. 96/2017 "On the Protection of National Minorities in the Republic of Albania." Playing a key role in the protection and promotion of the rights of national minorities in Albania, the Committee serves as an advisory body to the government on matters related to the rights, challenges, and needs of these communities.
National minorities in Albania officially include: the Greek minority, the Macedonian minority, the Aromanian minority, the Roma minority, the Egyptian minority, the Montenegrin minority, the Bosnian minority, the Serbian minority, and the Bulgarian minority. Each of these minorities has its own representative in the Committee, ensuring an active and equal voice in decision-making processes that affect their lives.
We are committed to promoting tolerance, understanding, and coexistence between national minority communities and the broader Albanian society.
